Organic Black Rice
Black rice is a medium grain variety of fragrant or aromatic rice. It is also known as ‘forbidden rice’, once exclusively served only to China’s royal family.
It has a deep black colour and when cooked, the colour usually turns to deep purple. Black rice is one of the most popular rice varieties due to its a mild nutty and earthy flavour with sweet aromatic finish when cooked.
To cook black rice, it can be cooked on its own or mixed with other rice variety such as white rice or brown rice. Due to its appetising fragrance, black rice is also often used to make desserts, pudding and bread.
